Achievements
Achievements in this web site have been drawn from:
- World firsts - where CSIRO has discovered something for the first time, e.g. CSIRAC - Australia's first computer, the discovery of the first known double pulsar, or the discovery of Flowering Locus C and its control of the initiation of flowering in plants
- Breakthroughs - sustained research programs that have contributed greatly to world knowledge or solved a major international/national problem, e.g. Iodine deficiency, coast disease, prickly pear, leucaena toxicity, the Hydrodec process or RNAi
- Products/processes/systems - significant achievements that have led to major industrial outcomes, e.g. Products - Relenza®, Aerogard, AUSSAT-B and other communication satellite antennas, UltraBattery™.
